If you have a birthday party, baby shower, wedding or a family dinner coming up, try making some rainbow fruit skewers. They are so easy and a definite crowd pleaser. Check it out!

I was throwing a baby shower for my friend and I wanted to make something for refreshments that was healthy yet simple. That’s how I came up with this delicious dessert. I’m not really a very good cook, so this recipe is easy enough for me. Win win!

Step #1: Cut up your fruit

Alright, these skewers are supposed to look like a rainbow. So, don’t just go buy some random fruit and expect it to turn out. You need fruit that look like the colors of the rainbow, duh! Here’s the fruit that you need to buy (conveniently listed in the same order that it should be placed on the skewer):

• Honeydew
• Pineapple
• Cantaloupe
• Watermelon
• Strawberries
• Grapes
• Blueberries

You’ll also need one last obvious supply, some wooden skewers. I like buying big thick skewers so they don’t break in half when you’re putting the fruit on.

I forgot to buy a pineapple when I went to the store, grrrrrr! But I luckily had some canned pineapple in pantry and that worked. Although I would recommend fresh pineapple, it worked in a pinch.

Then, cut up the watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple and strawberries into chunks.

Step #2: Place fruit on skewers

I know, I know this recipe is pretty much self-explanatory, but stay with me here. Take your wooden skewer and place each item of fruit on it. Make sure you place the fruit in order (as listed below) so it looks like a legit rainbow:

• Honeydew
• Pineapple
• Cantaloupe
• Watermelon
• Strawberries
• Grapes
• Blueberries

You’re done! That was easy right? Of course, rainbow fruit skewers wouldn’t be complete without some delicious fruit dip. Just mix a container of marshmallow crème to an softened 8oz block of cream cheese and voila, fluffy, delicious fruit dip.
