Who doesn’t love Dr. Seuss? That’s why these baby shower ideas (complete with FREE PRINTABLES) will have all of your guests grinning from ear to ear.

To be completely honest, I didn’t throw this baby shower, my sister did. Her eye for detail produced the best baby shower I’d ever seen and it was too cute not to share. I did contribute partly however with my invitation design and other printables that I will gladly pass on to you.

Dr. Seuss Invitations

First off, you’ll need an invitation to the baby shower. These FREE PRINTABLE – Dr. Seuss Baby Shower invitation – boy or girl are super cute. Just print them at home or your local copy store. Fill in the blanks and you’re done. Easy! Another option is to print just one, fill in the blanks, take a picture and then send the invitations electronically to everyone.

Time to chow down

The food doesn’t have to be complicated to be amazing. My sister did a candy buffet that matched the Dr. Seuss theme including blue tootsie rolls, goldfish crackers, gummy worms and swedish fish.

You can also have some cupcakes covered in yellow frosting and topped with swedish fish. They are so colorful and cute!

Lastly, you can add some substance with a fruit tray and mini chicken salad sandwiches.

Essentials Basket Raffle and Book Signing

This is such a cute idea.  My sister printed this FREE PRINTABLE – Dr. Seuss Essentials Basket Raffle sign and then attached it to a basket with a raffle ticket box in front of it. The guests were invited to bring essential items for the baby such as diapers, wipes, baby soap, binkies, etc. For each item they brought, they could enter their name in a raffle to win a prize at the end.

In light of the cute theme, you can have each of the guess sign a copy of a Dr. Seuss book and write a cute note to the new mom and new baby.

Final touches

Sometimes what makes a baby shower above average are the decorations. There are TONS of Dr. Seuss decorations online.  Here’s a few:
