It wouldn’t be Halloween without witches. That’s why this life-size witch tutorial will be the perfect touch for your Halloween decor. It’s easier than you might think too. Take a look.

You can put as much or as little work into this as you want. This is a very versatile project. I’ll give you the steps and you decide how much you want to do. So let’s get started.

Step one: Witch head

If you want to keep things simple, you can just find a witch mask online and use that for the head. This witch mask includes the hair and hat.

I wanted to take it a step further however and make my mask out of paper mache. I found a cool website called Ultimate Paper Mache that gave me a great step-by-step tutorial. Check it out here. I love the way my witch head turned out. 

Step two: Body

This part is super important because if you don’t have a sturdy body, it will just fall apart especially if you are displaying it outside on your front lawn. First you will need to get the right supplies. Here’s what you will need: 

• 1/2″ PVC Adapter 
• 1/2″ PVC Pipe (cut to 3″)
• Two 90-degree 3/4″ PVC pipe fittings
• Two 3/4″ pipe (cut to 12″)
• One 3/4″ PVC pipe (cut to 5 feet long)
• Two 45-degree 3/4″ PVC pip fittings
• Two 3/4″ PVC pipes (cut to 10 inches)
• Umbrella stand (to hold it upright)
• Sawsall for cutting the pipe

Now, it’s time to stuff and dress your witch. I found some pillows, plastic bags and an old bra and start duct taping. You can also use pool noodles to put around the pipe and I think that would have been easier.  They were just all sold out at the Dollar Store.

Then I found a long witch dress. Just make sure it is long enough to hide the PVC pipe. Then I put a feather boa around her neck and added an apron since she is supposed to be a chef. 

Step three: Legs and feet

To make the legs, I just got some chicken wire and formed it into some legs shapes, then I covered it with fabric, put a sock on the bottom and then put on some tights.

As for the shoes, you can just get some plain old black high heels.  I took it one step further and made these glittery witch shoes that turned out so freaking cute. Click here for the complete tutorial.

Step four: Finishing touches

I decided to make a Witch’s Brew Cafe complete with cauldron, menu and customer. It turned out so cute.

Overall, I was so happy with the way this turned out.  I ended up using this for a local scarecrow festival and it was wickedly awesome.
