<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s summer time and you know what that means? Otter pops! My kids love them but they aren&#8217;t the healthiest. So, I&#8217;ve created a version that is easy to make and healthy-ish. Check out these homemade otter pops right now!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2011606_329ab4-b3 size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="771" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-1024x771.jpg" alt="Homemade otter pops for the summer" class="kb-img wp-image-2011607" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-300x226.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-768x578.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-1536x1156.jpg 1536w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-2048x1542.jpg 2048w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Homemade-otter-pops-for-the-summer-500x375.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption><em>Homemade otter pops for the summer</em></figcaption></figure>

<span id="more-2011606"></span>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My kids would literally eat otter pops all day long, but they are loaded with sugar. So, I decided to try making the homemade version and they loved them! Win! Win! Here&#8217;s how you can make them too. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step #1: Make your otter pop mixture</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is no set recipe for these otter pops. You can make them as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. Mine were right in between. I dumped some frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, whole milk, sugar and half and half into our blender. It was the perfect balance of creamy, sugary and fruity.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2011606_04a0e2-6d size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="771" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-1024x771.jpg" alt="Otter pop mixture in our Blendtec" class="kb-img wp-image-2011608" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-300x226.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-768x578.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-1536x1156.jpg 1536w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-2048x1542.jpg 2048w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pop-mixture-500x375.jpg 500w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption><em>Otter pop mixture in our <a href="https://amzn.to/3RRg7n5" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Blendtec</a></em></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you want to make it a little healthier, you can add some protein powder, spinach and less sugar, ha ha. You can also add a splash of vanilla for an extra depth of flavor. Just make sure the mixture is runny enough so it can fit through the funnel easily.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step #2: Pour into otter pop sleeves</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <a href="https://amzn.to/3RDOoGt">otter pop sleeves</a> are essential for making these homemade otter pops. You can get 150 <a href="https://amzn.to/3RDOoGt" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">otter pop sleeves </a>on Amazon for pretty cheap. They also come with a funnel or you can use your own. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2011606_2a5b03-9b size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="771" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-1024x771.jpg" alt="Otter pop sleeves" class="kb-img wp-image-2011609" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-300x226.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-768x578.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-1536x1156.jpg 1536w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-2048x1542.jpg 2048w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Otter-pops-sleeves-500x375.jpg 500w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption><em><a href="https://amzn.to/4o24NRc" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow">Otter pop sleeves</a></em></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Just place the end of the funnel into the sleeve and then fill the top of the funnel with the mixture. Continue refilling your funnel until the sleeve is almost full. Leave about a 1/2 inch at the top to allow for expansion when you put them into the freezer.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2011606_3f40ff-3c size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="771" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-1024x771.jpg" alt="Filling the otter pop sleeves" class="kb-img wp-image-2011610" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-300x226.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-768x578.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-1536x1156.jpg 1536w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-2048x1542.jpg 2048w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Filling-the-otter-pop-sleeves-500x375.jpg 500w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption><em>Filling the otter pop sleeves</em></figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Step #3: Freeze your otter pops</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The last step is to place all of your filled otter pops into the freezer. Wait for at least a few hours, but preferably overnight. The zip seal on the sleeves made these otter pops easy to open when you&#8217;re ready to eat. Then, you can just through the sleeves away when you&#8217;re done! But, there&#8217;s no dripping because they are completely contained in the sleeve.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-kadence-image kb-image2011606_67da1e-98 size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="771" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-1024x771.jpg" alt="All the otter pops I made for my kids" class="kb-img wp-image-2011611" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-300x226.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-768x578.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-1536x1156.jpg 1536w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-2048x1542.jpg 2048w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/All-of-the-otter-popes-that-I-made-500x375.jpg 500w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption><em>All the otter pops I made for my kids</em></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In total, I think I made about 25 otter pops, which were completely gone in a matter or two or three days. My kids loved them. These are so easy to make. Plus if you like making smoothies in the mornings, you can just make a little bit extra and pour into the sleeves. </p>
