This pallet project is for YOU! And your front door will never look cuter with this do-it-yourself sign. Plus it’s interchangeable for every season of the year. So, let’s get started!

This project doesn’t take a lot of supplies. Plus, from start to finish, it should only take about an hour or so. Here’s how to do it.

Gather your front door sign supplies

I only spent $5 on supplies to make this cute front door sign. That’s because you can use a lot of materials you have lying around your house. Here’s what you’ll need:

• Two 12-inch pieces of pallet wood
• Two 15-inch pieces of pallet wood
• Finishing nails
• Nail gun and nails (or hammer and nails)
• Wire mesh sheet
• Velcro dots
• Wood stain
• Cotton twine
• Decorations (see below)
• FREE printable pennant banner (download below)

Build your pallet sign

Form a box with the pre-cut pallet pieces. It’s okay if they’re not totally flush on the ends. Once you nail them together, they will be tight together. Using a nail gun, nail together the boards. If you don’t have a nail gun, you can use a power drill or a hammer and nails.

Now, measure out the mesh screen and cut it down to the same size as the box. Nail the mesh screen to the box with finishing nails. Make sure you keep the screen tight as you are nailing.

Finish off the box for your front door sign with some wood stain. Follow the instructions on the container of wood stain. I love how it gives it a rustic feel.

Start decorating

This is the best part. I designed this front door sign so that it’s interchangeable for every season or just use as a welcome sign. Start off by printing the FREE pennant banner below. There’s a banner for spring, summer, winter, autumn, welcome and hello. Cut it out and then hot glue the pieces to an 19-inch cotton twine. Then, nail two finishing nails on the top two corners but only about halfway into the wood. Tie your banner to the nails.

Rotate banner and decorations

Whatever mood you’re in or season of the year it might be, you can cater your adorable pallet front door sign however you want! Depending on which decorations you choose, put on velcro dot on the bottom so it will stay in place and be switched out easily.

You can use the welcome banner for any time of year. Try putting a bird nest and a small flower pot on your front door sign.

Try the spring banner with some flowers, and small milk jars.

For the summer banner, you can put a miniature gnome house with some butterflies for a whimsical feel.

Try decorating your autumn front door sign with some fall leaves and an apple.

Finish off your winter sign with some pine cones and snowflakes.
