<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Let&#8217;s face it, kids are curious and sometimes that gets them into trouble. But I would rather have a house full of kids and broken things than an empty house. So, here&#8217;s some ways to fix the things our kids break.</p>

<span id="more-1328"></span>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" width="2350" height="3900" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1348" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1.jpg 2350w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-181x300.jpg 181w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-768x1275.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-617x1024.jpg 617w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-250x415.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-1200x1991.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Stuff-our-kids-ruin_Pinterest-1-600x996.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 2350px) 100vw, 2350px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">1. Melted wax down the drain</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My eight-year-old didn&#8217;t even realize what he was doing when he dumped the melted wax from our Scentsy down the kitchen sink. Here&#8217;s a video of how I fixed it.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="How to unclog drain with melted wax in it" width="720" height="405" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/96eoD1CATHU?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Important note:</strong>&nbsp; Although this process worked for me, every sink and plumbing system is different. You may want to consult with a professional plumber.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2. Carpet stains</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fingernail polish, pee, poop and gum have all made appearances on our carpet. Ugh! Before you go postal on your kids, check out these links to remove your carpet stain.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><a href="https://www.whatsupfagans.com/remove-poop-stains-carpets/">Poop or pee stains</a></li><li><a href="http://www.momtastic.com/life/683287-how-to-get-fingernail-polish-out-of-carpet/">Fingernail polish&nbsp;</a></li><li><a href="http://handmadebymrsh.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-to-get-chewing-gum-out-of-carpets.html?m=1">Chewing gum</a></li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="2081" height="2875" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet.jpg" alt="kids" class="wp-image-1335" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet.jpg 2081w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-217x300.jpg 217w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-768x1061.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-741x1024.jpg 741w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-250x345.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-1200x1658.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Poop-on-carpet-600x829.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 2081px) 100vw, 2081px" /><figcaption>Poop stains on the carpet are no bueno. My kids have all done this.</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3. Permanent marker stains</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">No matter how well I hide my permanent markers, my kids always find them. They figure the wall is a great place to showcase their artistic abilities. To learn how to remove permanent marker from your walls, click <a href="https://www.stain-removal-101.com/permanent-marker-removal.html">here</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">4. Broken cabinet doors</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Cabinet doors are not swings. If you hang on them, the screws will come loose or the door will split. I wish my kids understood that! Here&#8217;s how to fix two common cabinet door problems:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5. Melted crayons in the car</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I guess I can&#8217;t blame my kids for this one.&nbsp; If I let them have crayons in the car, I better make sure I gather all the crayons up before I leave the car. Click <a href="http://www.autodetaildoctor.com/how-to-remove-a-melted-crayon-from-car-upholstery-and-carpet/">here</a> to learn how to remove melted crayons from the car seat.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1500" height="1038" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1338" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300.jpg 1500w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-300x208.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-768x531.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-1024x709.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-250x173.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-1200x830.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/melted-crayon-300x300-600x415.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><figcaption>Melted crayon on the car seat. <em>Source: autodetaildoctor.com</em></figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">6. Hole in the trampoline</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sometimes trampolines wear out and get holes with age and sometimes your kids take a sharp object to the mat. I hope yours isn&#8217;t the latter. Here&#8217;s how to <a href="https://www.livestrong.com/article/188800-how-to-repair-a-tear-in-a-trampoline-mat/">fix a hole in your trampoline mat</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="2250" height="3000" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949.jpg" alt="kids" class="wp-image-1339" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949.jpg 2250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949-225x300.jpg 225w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949-250x333.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949-1200x1600.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_095541949-600x800.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 2250px) 100vw, 2250px" /><figcaption>A hole my kids made in our trampoline.</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">7. Vinyl fence holes/spray paint</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s still a mystery as to which kid in our neighborhood when to town with a can of spray paint on our vinyl fence. But I know a great solution to fix it. Here&#8217;s some other vinyl fence repair ideas.</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><a href="http://www.a1-fence.com/how-to-repair-a-vinyl-fence/">Hole in vinyl fence</a></li><li><a href="https://loveofhomes.blogspot.com/2013/05/how-to-remove-spray-paint-from-vinyl.html?m=1">Spray paint on vinyl fence</a></li></ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">8. Balls down the toilet</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s inevitable, if this hasn&#8217;t happen to you, it&#8217;s only a matter of time. Here&#8217;s <a href="http://crawfordmech.com/2017/01/06/removing-toys-toilets/">how you remove a ball from the toilet</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="2371" height="1875" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1341" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1.jpg 2371w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-300x237.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-768x607.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-1024x810.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-250x198.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-1200x949.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/16-12_Article1-1-600x474.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 2371px) 100vw, 2371px" /><figcaption>Ooops. There goes the ball. <em>Source: crawfordmech.com</em></figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">9. Scratches on table</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of my kids (who will remain unnamed), etched a tic-tac-toe onto the top of our kitchen table. Awesome. Well, fortunately, this is fixable. Here&#8217;s how to <a href="http://www.howtocleanstuff.net/how-to-remove-scratches-from-wood-furniture/">remove scratches from wood furniture</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="2400" height="2228" src="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-1342" srcset="https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470.jpg 2400w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-300x279.jpg 300w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-768x713.jpg 768w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-1024x951.jpg 1024w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-250x232.jpg 250w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-1200x1114.jpg 1200w, https://mysillysquirts.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/IMG_20180828_100017470-600x557.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 2400px) 100vw, 2400px" /><figcaption>A beautiful tic-tac-toe game etched into my kitchen table.</figcaption></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">10. Rips on leather couch</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">My sister-in-law had a small rip in her leather couch that just kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally, she attached a piece of Levi jeans on the underside of the tear using <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0735H1TFJ/ref=sxts_kp_bs_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_p=8778bc68-27e7-403f-8460-de48b6e788fb&amp;pd_rd_wg=JjEeL&amp;pf_rd_r=CX0AQVPWS3X3PQ1AVWEN&amp;pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-top-slot&amp;pf_rd_t=301&amp;pd_rd_i=B001RQCTUU&amp;pd_rd_w=3rC4g&amp;pf_rd_i=tear+mender&amp;pd_rd_r=cb913638-2baa-4f52-a7e6-923745341ee3&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1535578622&amp;sr=1">Tear Mender</a> (a leather and fabric adhesive). Then she stained that section with leather stain. Done!</p>
