If you’re looking for a super fun day-trip in Mazatalan, Mexico, look no further than Verano Ranch. This all-inclusive tour is the best way to go ziplining in Mazatlan. I’ll give you all the pros and cons of using this touring company. Check it out!

Our family spends a couple of weeks in Mazatlan, Mexico every other December. We love to go on a day-trip during our vacation and we have done this zipline tour two times. We’ve been really happy with it both times. Here’s everything you need to know.

Verano Ranch Zipline at a glance

• What is it?: An all-inclusive ziplining day trip on the outskirts of Mazatlan
• What is included?: Transportation to and from the zipline, guided zipline tour, authentic Mexican lunch, swimming in nearby hot springs
• Ages: About 5 years old and up (families welcome)
• Cost: $78 per person (we got a group rate, it might be more for just two people)
• Duration: 6-7 hours
• Hours: Open most days
• Location: About an hour east of Mazatlan near the town of Veranos. Tour buses will take you directly to the site.

Things we liked about Verano Ranch zipline tour

• Transportation: They picked us up in their 12-passenger vans right from our RV park where we were staying and then dropped us off at the end of the day.

• Villages: The one-hour drive to the zipline took us through quaint Mexican villages. We got to see the non-touristy side of Mazatlan and we even stopped for some homemade empandas.
• Friendly tour guides: Our driver was super friendly and spoke English really well. He told us all about the area and Mexican culture. All of the zipline workers were helpful and patient as well.

• Safety: They provided clear instructions on how to use the equipment. Even with all of our young children, we never felt unsafe riding each zipline.
• Water: Each person was given a water bottle before we started ziplining because it was fairly hot. It was much appreciated.

• Lots of ziplines: I think there were about 10 ziplines that we rode down through the mountains. Each one had varying lengths. They weren’t too scary for little kids but fun enough for adults.

• Delicious food: The lunch they provided after the zipline was so amazing. They served us melted cheese and salsa in a molcajete. Plus, fresh pico, guacamole, beans, tacos and chips. It was so yummy.

• Swimming: After we ate lunch, we swam in two large circular cement swimming pools from a local hot spring. The water was warm and refreshing. They had bathrooms to change into our swimming suits. So make sure to bring some swimming suits.

Things we didn’t like about Verano Ranch zipline

Overall, we were very happy with our ziplining in Mazatlan with Verano Ranch. However, there were a few things we didn’t like. Here’s a short list:

• Price: I think $78 is fairly reasonable for a day-long zipline that includes lunch and transportation. However, I think they should offer cheaper prices for children under 12.
• Credit card fee: I was not told that there would be a 5% fee if we used our credit card. Had I known, I would have paid in cash.
• Average ziplines: The zipline course was fun, but it is pretty basic. None of the lines are super long. If you’re expecting world-class ziplines like in Costa Rica, then lower your expectations.
• Extra water: I would bring my own water bottle next time because they give you one water bottle during the zipline and then a soda at lunch. My kids were still pretty thirsty so I purchased more water bottles.
• Air conditioner: The 12-passenger vans had air conditioning but it was still pretty hot on the drive home in the afternoon sun.
• Car sickness: The road to the zipline is pretty windy. If you get car sick at all, consider not going or riding in the front seat.
