If you’re looking for a way to bring Christ back into Christmas, this FREE PRINTABLE 24-day advent calendar will inspire you. Shaped like a Christmas tree, each day includes a scripture that you can read every day throughout the holiday season.

Although my kids may argue with me, Christmas is not about presents. It’s about celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this 24-day advent calendar begins with the birth of the Savior and finishes with the culmination of his resurrection and visitation among the Nephites in ancient America. It’s a wonderful way to share the miracle of Christmas with your family.

Print/laminate your advent calendar

First, download the PDF below and send it to your local copy store and request them to print it double-sided and then laminate it. It cost me about $6. Make sure they print it double-sided!

Cut, tape and hang 

Using a good paper cutter, cut out each individual day on the advent calendar. Make sure you cut along the lines indicated on the side with the scriptures. DON’T cut out each day flush with the green boxes, you might cut off some of the pictures on the opposite side.

Then, put a piece of tape on each square. Make sure the tape is on the side with the scriptures. Hang up each square so that the numbers are in order and they are arranged into the shape of a Christmas tree (see image below).

Read and enjoy daily

I love reading the stories of the Savior’s life, especially with my children. They will be so excited to see what story they are going to hear each day before Christmas. I hope this will inspire you to put Christ back into Christmas in your home this holiday season.
