Booing your neighbors has been my favorite Halloween tradition in my neighborhood during the month of October for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I always got so excited when we finally got “booed” by our neighbors. That’s why I want to continue this fun activity with my kids and the whole neighborhood as well. Here’s how you can too. Keep reading to learn more.

Print your You’ve Been Booed Printable

The most important part of this fun Halloween game is the instructions so the game can spread to everyone. I designed this super cute and simple PDF printable that can be printed on cardstock paper on your home computer or at your local copy store.

How to play You’ve Been Boo’ed

If this is is your first time playing this fun Halloween game, don’t worry. It’s super easy. Around October 1st, you’ll want to fill a gift basket or boo bags with a bunch of fun Halloween treats and goodies (see below for ideas). Next, attach a “Boo” gift tag to the basket. Then, include the printed instruction page (see below) and window sign in the basket. Finally, leave the basket on the porch of the person or neighbor you are booing and then ring the door and run. Make sure they don’t see you spreading Halloween cheer.

Once your neighbor discovers their surprise, they simply make copies of the pages that you included in the basket. They will hang their “We’ve been boo’ed” sign in their front window and then repeat the process with another neighbor. Hopefully, by the time Halloween arrives, everyone in your entire neighborhood will have been “boo’ed.”

You’ve Been Boo’ed Gift basket ideas

There’s lots of fun different things you can include in your basket to “boo” your neighbors. You don’t have to spend a lot of money. You can get a lot of fun stuff for cheap at the dollar store. Here’s just a few to get you started.

• Plastic pumpkin bucket or cauldron
• Glow in the dark bouncy balls
• Candy corn plush
• Slap bracelets
• Mini witch hats and cauldrons
• Peanut Butter and Jelly costume
• Indoor Halloween lights
• Halloween squishy toys or other fun toys
• Homemade treats (rice krispies, popcorn, cookies)
• Halloween candy

Charcuterie boards are the perfect addition to any October party. But if you have kids coming, you’ll want to cater your board to their picky tastes. That’s why I have the perfect snacks to add to your Halloween charcuterie board for kids. Check it out!

I love to throw a fun Halloween party every year and I love making a themed charcuterie board. So, included in our spooky buffet should always be a festive Halloween charcuterie board. But, I make mine super simple so kids and adults alike will love it and you can throw it together last minute as well. Here’s how to make one yourself.

Gather your Halloween charcuterie board for kids supplies

Before you can start putting together you charcuterie board, you’re going to need a few supplies to make it just right. Here’s what I like to use:

• 3-foot poseable skeleton
• Cookie sheet (18×13) or charcuterie serving tray (different sizes)
• Charcuterie utensils, small bowls and accessories

Make sure you sanitize your skeleton really well with Clorox wipes since lots of different foods will be touching it. The skeleton adds a fun, spooky twist and is a fun way to make a spooky Halloween charcuterie board.

Fresh fruit and veggies

Charcuterie boards for kids still need healthy stuff. So, here’s some yummy and healthy fresh veggies and favorite fruits you can include:

• Baby carrots
• Cucumbers
• Snow peas
• Celery sticks
• Black olives
• Peppers
• Cherry tomatoes
• White mini pumpkin
• Grapes
• Strawberries
• Blueberries
• Apple slices
• Orange slices

Meats and cheeses

You’ll want to add a good variety of protein and substance to your charcuterie board, like meat and cheese. Here’s some ideas:

• Pepperoni
• Ham slices
• Turkey slices
• Salami
• Lil’ Smokies or hot dogs
• Cheddar cheese or orange cheese (use Halloween cookie cutters to make festive shapes)
• Babybel cheese wedges
• Laughing Cow cheese
• Pretzels
• Crackers
• Goldfish crackers

Halloween candy and sweets

• Halloween bark
• Pumpkin Peeps
• Mini donuts
• Oreo cookies
• M&Ms
• Candy corn
• Candy eyeballs
• Gummy worms
• Chocolate chips
• Banana ghosts
• Candy pumpkins

Arrange your charcuterie board in sections with veggies and fruit together, sweets together and meats and cheeses. You can also add a small bowl of jelly or ranch dip. Place the snacks all around the skeleton. I usually leave the head and the legs dangling off the ends of the cookie sheet. It’s so spooky and cute!

You can also put a cute sign next to the charcuterie that says, “Skeleton Bones” or something fun like that. This charcuterie board was part of my larger Halloween dinner buffet centerpiece. I laid down some spooky decorations to fill the empty spaces including a large orange table cloth, zombie hands, skeleton figurines, plastic spiders, skeleton hands, tea lights and skulls. It turned out so cute. Keep with a simple color scheme like black and orange (dark colors)
