Halloween is my favorite and I love throwing parties during October. This year, I threw a neighborhood Halloween party with all of my neighbors who live on my street. It was so much fun. It doesn’t have to be hard either. Here’s some Halloween party ideas that you will love.
#1: Send out official text invitations
It always seems more official when you take the time to send out an invitation. Plus, with AI, it’s way easier to throw together a cute invitation and text it to everyone. Below is the invitation that I sent to everyone this year for our party.

#2: Spooky TV screen saver
A great way to add a lot of Halloween ambiance is to have a spooky YouTube screen saver playing continuously on your TV throughout the party. We love doing this for every holiday party. There are so many to choose from and plays festive music too.

#3: Candy guessing jar
A candy guessing jar is an easy way to involve all of your guests. Fill a jar with Halloween candies and let people guess how many are inside. Whoever guesses closest to the exact amount gets to keep the entire jar.

#4: Best costume awards
It wouldn’t be a Halloween party without costumes. So, it’s always fun to make prizes for the best costumes. You don’t have to spend a lot of money either. I just filled some linen pumpkin bags with candy and put tags on them.

#5: Blood bags for drinks
Every time I have blood IV bags at my Halloween parties they are a huge hit! You can buy these realistic blood bags on Amazon and just fill them up with your favorite red drink. I placed them in a galvanized steel tub filled with ice.

#6: Bubbling witch’s cauldron
You don’t have to use dry ice to make a cool witch’s cauldron boiling over with fog. You can buy these cool mist-maker devices that creates endless mist and all you need is water! I use this every time we have a Halloween party.

#7: Skeleton charcuterie board
If you want that “wow” factor on your Halloween buffet table, you can make a skeleton charcuterie board. They are super easy to make and great for snacking throughout the night. All you need is a 3-foot posable skeleton.

#8: Creepy buffet food labels
Add a little creepiness to your Halloween buffet table with some spooky labels. Everyone will love looking at the different names for all of the foods. Here’s some ideas for labels:
- Bat Saliva = Water
- Bones and Blood = Breadsticks and marinara sauce
- Juicy Pumpkins = Cuties with jack-o-lantern faces draw on
- Haunted Forest = Broccoli
- Frog Legs = Celery sticks
- Witch Fingers = Carrot sticks
- Cat Eyes = Olives
- Monster Mucus = Lemonade
- Werewolf Salad = Any type of salad
- Spooky Bark = Halloween chocolate bark
- Mummy Pizzas = Pizza pockets that look like mummies
- Vampire Brain = Jell-O in a brain mold

#9: Hang a Halloween poster and balloons
It’s amazing what a poster and balloons will do. There are some really cheap Halloween poster options on Amazon. Plus, your poster can double as a backdrop for some photo ops with props.

#10: Play Pass the Pumpkin
It’s always nice to play a game or two during your Halloween party. Pass the Pumpkin is a super easy Halloween that everyone can play. Just sit everyone in a circle and give someone a pumpkin. As you read the story, you listen to the directions and pass the pumpkin accordingly. Whoever has the pumpkin by the end of the story gets to keep it.
