Yum! Healthy spinach peanut butter smoothie
Here’s the ONLY healthy smoothie recipe that you will ever need. Packed with the nutrient-rich super food spinach that actually tastes super good! Once you taste this smoothie, you’ll never go back.
If you have a hard time fitting in your veggies everyday, I have the solution. My husband originally found this recipe from the book Fit To Fat To Fit but we added our own variations.
It’s packed with spinach, peanut butter, milk and bananas. And the best part is that there is no added sugar. It truly is super healthy but doesn’t taste “healthy”.
Combine your healthy smoothie ingredients
The best part of this smoothie is how easy it is. It only requires five essential ingredients. Here they are:
- 1 cup milk (or almond milk)
- Large handful of raw spinach
- 1/2 banana
- Large handful ice
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 scoop Vanilla whey protein powder (optional)
If you’re in a pinch, you can go without the protein powder and even the banana. The peanut butter is what really hides the taste of the spinach. So don’t forget that.
Blend and serve
I like to use a Blendtec blender. It is totally worth the investment. You can also use a Vitamix or a Ninja. Dump everything in and push the smoothie button. It blends for about one minute.
I am not a fan of frothy smoothies. I can’t handle the texture. So, I put lots of ice. It makes the smoothie thick and delicious.
Another weird quirk I have is that I don’t like drinking smoothies without a straw. Good news is there are lots of reusable straws out there. You can get eight basic metal straws for only $5! They even sell collapsible and foldable reusable straws that you can use as a keychain.
The best part about this spinach peanut butter smoothie is that you eat your veggies first thing in the morning. I am a sucker for sweets so I don’t naturally reach for the healthy stuff. It takes that stress out of eating healthy and it starts your day off on the right foot.
Alright! It’s your turn. Check out the recipe below and be on your way to a healthier lifestyle one spinach peanut butter smoothie at a time.
