An “egg”tastic experiment your kids will love
Our chickens are spitting out eggs like crazy. So, my kids and I did our own little experiment. It was so cool and easy. Here’s how you can do it yourselves.
This experiment can be done at home with supplies you probably already have lying around. It is so easy, a child can do it, which is exactly why it interested us so much.
Hollow egg shell
All you need is an egg and a pin or a sharp knife. Take the tip of the knife or pin and lightly tap the top of the shell until a tiny hole forms. Then do the same to the bottom of the shell until you have two tiny holes on both ends.
Then, while leaning over a bowl, blow into the hole at the top of the shell. Slowly, the insides will begin coming out the bottom hole. Continue blowing until the inside of the shell is completely empty.
The end result is a hollow egg shell. There’s something about crushing a hollow shell in your hands. My kids thought it was awesome.
