10 reasons why I love being a Latter-day Saint (Mormon)
I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life. And I love it! It influences almost every major decision in my life and it has brought nothing but happiness and peace. So, why do I love being a Latter-day Saint? Keep reading to find out.

#1: Christ is the center of my life
Jesus Christ is very important to me. And as Latter-day Saints, everything that we do and believe centers around Him. If you want to learn more about what we believe concerning Jesus, check out “The Living Christ”.
#2: I know who I am
Our doctrine teaches us that we are all beloved sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves us and wants us to be happy. It gives me a deep sense of self worth, shows me my potential and provides comfort during hard times.
#3: I have an eternal family
My dad died about five years ago at 70 years old. It was too soon for all of us. But because have a knowledge of God’s plan, I know that I’ll see him again. We can live with our families after this life. Isn’t that amazing?! Here’s a great summary of how we as Latter-day Saints feel about the family.
#4: I receive clarity from the Book of Mormon
Aside from an undiluted testimony of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon explains core doctrines (such as faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end) plainly. It also works along side the Bible as another witness of the reality of Jesus Christ and His gospel.
#5: I get to make promises with God in the temple
Latter-day Saints love the temple. These are sacred buildings where we make promises that bind us to our families and to Jesus Christ and provide a way to live eternally with our Heavenly Father. I work in the temple every week and I have felt the undeniable love that God has for each of us while inside those doors. If you want to see for yourself, visit an upcoming temple open house free to the public.
#6: I have purpose and direction in my life
If you knew that God had a plan for YOU, wouldn’t you want to do everything you could to follow that plan and qualify for its blessings? I know God has a plan for me. Each day is a new opportunity for me to keep my covenants and live up to my divine potential.
#7: It answers many of life’s questions
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I know where I came from, I know why I’m here on Earth and I know where I’m going after I die. It’s called the Plan of Salvation and it’s going to blow your mind.
#8: I’m healthier
As Latter-day Saints, we believe in a law of health called the Word of Wisdom. It teaches us to take care of our bodies and not put harmful things in it such as coffee, tea, tobacco, alcohol and drugs. My overall health is better because I don’t consume those things.
#9: I’m learning to be less selfish
Like many other religions, we are encouraged to love one another and to serve our neighbor. We do this by donating 10 percent of our income to tithing, accepting callings in our local congregations, serving our friends and neighbors and trying to be more like Christ everyday.
#10: I’m happy
Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes me happy. It has brought me nothing but good things in my life. Just like Matthew said, “by their fruits ye shall know them”. Well, I have partaken of the fruit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I know it is a good fruit. It’s true and I’m proud to say I’m a member.
