Delicious 3-ingredient raspberry freezer jam
There’s nothing quite like fresh raspberries in the summertime, except for maybe mouth-watering raspberry freezer jam. And it only requires three ingredients. So, don’t waste any time. Let’s get started!
So, my kids refuse to eat store-bought raspberry jam. It’s just simply not the same. That’s why I pick as many raspberries from the my garden that I can get. I can usually get at least three batches or 18 cups every season. Here’s how you can make your own jam as well.
Gather your raspberry freezer jam ingredients
Like I said, all you need for this recipe is three simple ingredients. Here they are:
- 6 cups fresh raspberries
- 1.75 oz packet Sure Jell pectin
- 5 1/4 cups sugar
If you don’t have time to make your raspberry jam right away, don’t worry. You can freeze six cups of raspberries (makes one batch) in a ziploc bag and save it for later when you have time.
Start mixing
In a large bowl, mash your raspberries. You can mash them as much as you like. I like to leave a few raspberry chunks for texture. Then add 5 1/4 cups of sugar. I know that seems like a lot but that’s why this jam is so freaking good. Let the sugar/raspberry mixture sit for 10 minutes.
Prepare your pectin mixture
While your sugar/raspberry mixture is sitting, add 3/4 cup of water and one 1.75oz packet of Sure Jell Fruit Pectin into a small pot. Bring to a boil and let boil for one minute.
Put it all together
Add pectin mixture to the raspberry/sugar mixture and stir constantly for three minutes until the sugar is dissolved. Pour freezer jam into freezer-safe containers. Leave 1/2 inch at the top and cover. Store on the counter for 24 hours until the jam has set. Freeze for up to a year or store in the fridge for up to three weeks.
