It’s a magic party! Whether it’s for a birthday, cub scout packing meeting or just a regular old party with friends, here’s some enchanting magic-themed party ideas that will wow all of your guests.
We recently held a magic-themed pack meeting for our cub scouts. It was so much fun and the boys had a blast. Here’s some ideas that you might like for your next magic party.

Decorations for a magic party for kids
Decorating for your magic party doesn’t have to be difficult. We made some centerpieces using some plastic top hats decorated with playing cards, paper weights from Dollar Tree and dice. We let the boys decorate their own centerpieces and they did such a good job!
Easy magic party games
Our boys dressed up in a magician’s cloak and top hat and posed for a photo shoot. They got really into it and the photos turned out great.
But of course, there are TONS of magic party game ideas online, so here’s a few of my favorite:
Harry Potter Spell Matching Game
Magic Party Favors
We found this idea for “Magic Trix” and they turned out great. Just fill some snack size ziploc baggies with about half a cup of Trix cereal and attach the FREE PRINTABLE – Magic Trix party favor tag. We also gave each of the boys a Harry Potter Wand Keychain and they thought those were awesome! Which they were.
Magical color-changing drinks
This simple trick will surprise all your guests. Put a couple of drops of food coloring in the bottom of a plastic cup and let it dry. Then when you’re ready to serve drinks at your party, make sure you put ice at the bottom of the drink before you poor the water (so they don’t see the food coloring). Then poor Sprite into the cups. It will activate the food coloring and change colors.
I hope some of these ideas will get you excited for your next magic party. What other ideas worked for you? Leave your comments below.
