For those of you who aren’t familiar, Come Follow Me is a home-centered gospel learning program that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participate in throughout the year. It is an amazing way to strengthen testimonies and grow closer to Jesus Christ. So, here’s 10 amazing tools that you can use to make your Come Follow Me study more effective as a family. Let’s get started!
#1: 52-week study worksheet and poster
One of the best ways to retain the information that you and your family are studying together is to write it down. My neighbor teaches Gospel Doctrine in our ward and she asked me to design an individual study worksheet and a larger poster to accomplish just that.
Write down your own thoughts and impressions on the worksheet and then hang the larger poster in a high-traffic area of your home. Encourage everyone to write down their thoughts each we as you learn together. Plus, you can download these PDFs below for FREE!

#2: Online resources on church’s website
If you haven’t utilized all of the resources on the church’s website, you might be surprised as what you’ll find. Aside from digital access to every week’s lesson, there are also videos, games and activities for kids and insights from the apostles.

#3: BYU Religious Studies Library
If you’re looking for additional materials not found in the Come Follow Me manual, the BYU Religious Studies Library is awesome! Each week, they provide “additional high-quality articles that are well researched, inspirational, and written by scholars, educators, Church leaders, historians, and popular authors.”

#4: Table-top flipbook for families and individuals
Sometimes I just don’t have time to prepare an in-depth lesson every week. But this simple 52-week flipbook can be placed in a high-traffic area of your home. It contains scriptures, quotes and family challenges that will encourage more gospel-centered conversations in your home throughout the year.

#5: Podcasts
I like to kill two birds with one stone and listen to a Come Follow Me podcast while I am cleaning the house or on a walk. It’s a great way to get an overall understanding of the current week’s lesson when you’re out and about during a busy week. Then, I usually receive thoughts and impressions on what would be helpful to share with my kids that week.
Here are some Come Follow Me podcasts that I particularly enjoy:
- Follow Him with Hank Smith and John Bytheway
- Unshaken Saints with Jared Halverson
- Teaching with Power with Benjamin Wilcox
- Don’t Miss This with Emily Freeman and David Butler
- Talking Scripture with Mike Day and Bryce Dunford
- Come Follow Me Kids

It’s always nice to include a printable for your children as your studying Come Follow Me as a family. It provides a visual representation that helps bring everything together. Aside from the resources on the church’s website, here’s a list of helpful website that provide printables (some of them are even free).
#7: Line Upon Line
Line Upon Line are weekly videos created by the company Living Scriptures. They created fun and creative videos give a summarized overview of the Come Follow Me lesson each week. We try to show our kids the most recent video at the beginning of each week. These videos are a lazy and easy way to expose your kids to the lesson each week. It’s the effort that counts, right?

#8: Study guides and activity books
Aside from the CFM manual that every family receives from the church at the beginning of the year, there are other helpful guides and activity books that you can purchase separately. Here’s just a few:
