Caramel apple nacho bar: three easy steps to deliciousness
I love a good dessert bar and a caramel apple nacho bar is one of the easiest and the best options out there. Your guests will be impressed and there will be smiles all around. Here’s how to make your own in three easy steps. Check it out!

My neighbor originally gave me the idea of this apple nacho bar. She served one at our church’s LDS Girls Camp and it was a total hit. Even though it’s definitely sugary, you feel like you’re being somewhat healthy with the apples involved. Everyone just loves it. Here’s how to do it.
Cut your apples
One medium apple could be considered two servings. So, cut about half as many apples as guests attending your party. Tart green apples work best but really any type of apple will do. A super easy way to cut the apples is with this 12-slice apple corer and slicer. After you cut each apple, place the slices in a bowl of water with a 1/4 cup of lemon juice to prevent them from browning.

Cook your caramel drizzle
My lovely neighbor gave me her caramel drizzle recipe and it is delicious and super easy. You can use store-bought caramel drizzle if you are in a pinch, but homemade is always better. Here’s how to make it.
Bring the following ingredients in a large sauce pan to a hard boil on medium-high heat for three minutes, stirring occasionally:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Karo syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
After three minutes, add one cup of heavy whipping cream (40% fat) and bring the mixture back to a hard boil for another three minutes. This recipe serves about 20 people.

Prep your toppings
The best part about the caramel apple nachos is all of the toppings. You can basically add whatever you want. But here’s a few toppings that we used:
- Shredded coconut
- Heath pieces
- Mini chocolate chips
- Reese’s minis
- Chopped peanuts
- M&M minis
- Whipped cream
- Gummy bears
- Chopped pretzels
- Chopped Oreos

Pour each of your toppings into separate bowls with spoons for each bowls and arrange on the serving table next to the apples and caramel.

That’s it! Display your apples, caramel and toppings on the serving table and you’re done! This is one of the easiest dessert bars to make and is ALWAYS a hit. Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
