Don’t Eat Pete: One of the best Halloween party games
This fun and classic party game has expanded into the spooky Halloween realm and now you can print your very own for your next party. Check it out!
Whether you have preschoolers or teenagers, this game is a definite crowd pleaser for all ages. I’m not sure why, but all of my kids love playing this game over and over. So, I figured, why not make a Halloween version for added fun? Here’s how to do it.
Print your Don’t Eat Pete party game
I designed this game with two playing boards for added fun and variety. Plus, there’s an additional instruction page. You can print it at home or email it to your local printer. The layout of the game is fairly simple so it’s easy for the little ones too. Click on the link below to download your printable PDF.

Gather your supplies
The best part about this game is that it doesn’t require very many supplies to get started. All you need is your printed playing boards and some small candies. Here’s some different candies that work great for this game:
How to play the game
Place the “Don’t eat Pete” playing board in the middle of the table and all players gather around it. Make sure everyone can see.
Choose one person to wait in the other room while everyone else chooses a character on the playing board t o be “Pete”. Then, place a small piece of candy like a Skittle or chocolate chip on each of the characters on the playing board.
Call the person chosen back in the room. Instruct them to slowly start eating each piece of candy placed on the board. Once they are about to eat the piece of candy that is covering “Pete”, yell out “Don’t eat Pete!!” before they eat it.
Pick another person to wait in the other room and start the process all over again. Repeat until everyone has had a turn.
I hope this Don’t Eat Pete party game is a hit at your next Halloween bash. This game is particularly popular for preschool, elementary classroom and birthday parties. Let me know how it goes in the comments below. Here’s a link to the printable game one more time, just in case you didn’t see it above. Enjoy!
