Thank you notes for temple workers for your next LDS youth or primary activity
Sometimes it’s hard to think of an easy and fun activity that your LDS youth or primary kids would like. That’s why I love leaving temple notes for temple workers. It’s a great way to serve our temple workers and reminds everyone of the importance of attending the temple. Here’s how to do it.

Every Tuesday, I work at the Mount Timpanogos Temple as an LDS ordinance worker in American Fork, Utah. I know I would love it if I were to receive a thank you note on my car after a five-hour shift. This is such an easy service to perform but can have such a lasting impact on so many people. Check it out!
Download and print your thank you tags
I designed a really simple thank you tag that you can attach to a sample bag of candy. Each tag is 2.58″ wide x4.69″ tall and there are six to a page. Simply click on the link at the end of this blog post to purchase, download and print these thank you tags.
I also added an inspirational quote from President Russell M. Nelson that reads: “Every time you worthily serve and worship in the temple, you leave armed with God’s power and with His angels having charge over you.”

Cut and attach candy to each tag
Although there are only six thank you tags per page, you can print as many copies of the tags as you want. Then simply cut each tag out and punch a hole in the top of each one with a hole punch.

Next, you’ll need to attach a small candy to each tag. You could simply staple a candy like a Tootsie roll or a Werther’s caramel to the tag. But I think it looks a lot cute if you place a few candies in a small cellophane bag (3″x4″) and tie it off with some ribbon.
Here are some candies or treats that you could give away with your thank you tag:
- Dove chocolates
- Werther’s caramels
- Hershey’s kisses
- Reese’s peanut butter cups
- M&Ms
- Skittles
- Tootsie rolls
- Homemade cookies
- Jolly ranchers
- Airheads
- Gum
You can include the assembling of the temple notes as part of your activity before you head off to the temple. Depending on which temple you are at, you could make as many thank you notes as you would like. You’ll just want to make enough so that everyone has a chance to participate.

Head to the temple and place on cars
Jump in the car and head to your nearest temple. Make sure you plan ahead and go on a day when your temple isn’t closed for cleaning. Divide into groups and spread out in the parking lot and place one thank you note under each windshield wiper of every car.

You will want to make sure an adult accompanies each group of youth or children. Remind everyone that they need to be reverent and respectful around the cars. Be careful when lifting the windshield wipers so nothing breaks. Make sure each note is secured under the wiper so that it doesn’t blow away.

I hope you have fun delivering these thank you notes for temple workers during your next activity. Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
