Kids love this Freddy the Frog alphabet learning game

My daughter just started kindergarten and she is working really hard at learning her letters. So, I designed this fun, interactive alphabet game that makes learning her letters fun. It’s super easy to play and my daughter is learning her letters without even realizing it. Here’s how to play.

Download and print your Freddy the Frog letter game

This fun game can be played over and over again. It includes five high-quality 8.5×11 PDF pages. I recommend sending your PDF to your local copy store and printing each page in full color and then laminate each page. That way they will last a long time and you can play them over and over.

Cut out and prep your game

Cut out each frog and cut a small hole in the mouth as indicated. You can also cut out the eyes of the frog so you can see better if you prefer. Or you can leave them in for added difficulty. Cutting out the eyes makes it easier to see the letters. Then, cut each bug/letter square.

Besides printing the game, you’ll need a few other supplies:

Party noise makers (one for each child playing)
Adhesive magnetic sheets
Scissors

Place a party noise maker into the hole of the frog’s mouth. Make sure when you blow the noise maker, that it unrolls in front of the frog’s face, like he’s sticking out his tongue. Cut and attach a small square from an adhesive magnet sheet onto the end of the noise maker. Then attach small squares of adhesive magnets onto the back of each of the bug/letter squares.

Play the game

Now, you’re ready to start playing this fun alphabet learning game. Scatter the bug/letter squares face down onto the floor or table. Blow the party noise maker and let it extend until it touches one of the magnets attached to a bug/letter square. The noise maker magnet should attach to the magnet on the bug/letter square and pull it in after you’re done blowing. Then, pull the square off and name the letter that you caught. Continue the process until you’ve caught all the letters/bugs.

It took a couple of tries, but once my five-year-old daughter figured it out, she loved it! She would catch a bug letter with Freddy’s tongue and then say the name of the letter. She did the entire alphabet a couple of times.
