Three delicious cherry recipes your kids will love
We inherited a giant 30-year-old cherry tree when we moved into our house. Every year, we get TONS of cherries. So, over the years, I’ve found three of my favorite ways to use the cherries from our tree.
For a long time, the only thing I ever made with our cherries was bottled pie filling. But I hardly ever made pie, so they would just go to waste. They I decided to broaden my horizons and try something new. I found three awesome cherry recipes that I know you and your kids will love.
Peanut Butter Cherry Smoothie
My husband gets credit for this culinary masterpiece. It’s healthy, quick and easy.
My husband’s favorite part is the peanut butter. It adds a lot of substance to the smoothie and provides a lot of flavor.

Cherry Fruit Leather
This recipe is by far the biggest hit with my kids. They eat this cherry fruit leather just as fast as a batch of chocolate chip cookies. And it’s super easy.
Here’s how you make it. Cook, blend, spread and bake. The thing that takes the longest is pitting the cherries. I like to freeze my cherries and then make the fruit leather on a different day so I don’t get burned out.
Also, I ran out of parchment paper, so I actually used aluminum foil and sprayed it with cooking spray. It worked just great.

Cherry Clafoutis
This is not cherry pie, it’s much better. Pronounced kla-foo-tee, it’s a French tart that will have the whole family drooling.
You most likely will have all the ingredients at your house already. That’s what I love about this recipe which I originally found here. Make sure you melt the butter all the way and cook it long enough.
