Delicious 3-ingredient Oreo truffle balls recipe
This 3-ingredient Oreo truffle balls recipe will make everyone say, “Wow. Who made these?” Then you can raise your hand and soak in the compliments. Little will they know how easy they really were. So, let’s get started.
Ingredients for Oreo truffle balls recipe
Seriously. This recipe only takes three ingredients:
- Cream cheese
- Oreos
- Melting chocolate (white and/or milk)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Form the truffle balls
This is the easy part. Dump 36 Oreo cookies into the food processor and blend until they are smooth crumbs. Next, blend 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and then add the Oreos. You should get something with the consistency of thick mud.
Then you’ll want to form the Oreo/cream cheese mixture into small balls. Don’t make the balls too big, maybe and inch in diameter. They are very rich and you don’t need a lot. Place the balls on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and place them in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Cover truffle balls with melted chocolate
Melt chocolate in a double boiler until smooth. Take half of the Oreo truffle balls out of the freezer. Drop the balls in the melted chocolate one by one and cover completely. Gently lift the balls out and place them on the waxed paper. Quickly add the sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
Although you can use a toothpick to dip the balls, I felt like it was just as easy to drop it in the and drizzle chocolate all over it with a spoon.
This Oreo truffle balls recipe is so versatile. You can make these during for Christmas, a baby shower, family BBQ and the list goes on. I just happened to be making these for my son’s first Christmas piano recital. With the extra chocolate, we were even able to make a few chocolate-covered pretzels.
