The best 9-minute LDS missionary workout (PDF printable)
If you or someone you know is heading out on an mission soon, here’s an awesome LDS missionary workout that you can use everyday. The best part is that it doesn’t require any equipment and you can do it in 10 minutes. Check it out!

My friend served as the mission nurse for the Orem Utah Mission for five years. During that time, she gave this workout to all of the missionaries. She said this workout was a great way to stay in shape, maintain muscle mass and improve your overall health. As missionaries, it’s easy to get in enough steps during the day. But this workout helps with strength training and doesn’t require any equipment! Check it out!
Start your workout
You can do this daily workout by yourself or you can do it with your companion. It’s super simple. All you’ll need is a chair. Do each of the eleven exercises in this workout for 30 seconds each with a 15-second break in between each one. Here are the twelve exercises:
- Jumping jacks
- Wall sits (add bicep curls with weights for added difficult)
- Push ups
- Crunches
- Step ups
- Squats
- Tricep dips (use a chair or solid surface)
- Planks
- High knees (running in place)
- Lunges
- Planks with a twist
- Burpees
After you are done with your twelve exercises, you can repeat the entire workout if you want. Sometimes I even repeat the entire workout for a third time if I really want a good workout. You can also increase the time for each exercise to one minute each instead of 30 seconds.
Print and hang your workout
I created a handy PDF printable of this workout that you can hang in your missionary apartment for easy access. Refer to it everyday as you are doing your workout. After several weeks, you’ll have the workout memorized. Even though I’m not a missionary anymore, I still do this workout on a regular basis. I love it.

Who are LDS missionaries?
If you stumbled upon this blog post and you’re wondering who LDS missionaries are, let me tell you! Missionaries are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who leave their homes for 18 months–2 years to serve others and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I served an LDS mission more than 20 years ago in Paris, France. I learned French, ate lots of yummy food and most importantly, preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for 18 months. To learn more, click here.

I hope this blog post will help you maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle on your mission. For me, I would have loved this workout on my mission. It’s simple, easy and just helps you feel better every day. Let me know what you think in the comments below. Thanks!
