Several years ago, I made a box of sunshine for my sister who was going through a tough time. Although boxes of sunshine are cute, they are more suitable as care packages that are being sent through the mail. If I am giving a care package in person, making a sunshine basket is the way to go. Whether it’s a special day, birthday celebrations, get-well gifts, Valentine’s Day, college care packages, office professional staff, special occasion or one of the major holidays, sunshine boxes are perfect for everything. Gather items for your Basket of Sunshine
Of course, it wouldn’t be a sunshine basket unless everything inside was yellow. It’s supposed to “brighten” their day after all. So, the number one requirement is that everything is the basket should be filled with yellow things or mostly yellow. Depending on who you are giving a basket to will determine what you put in it, obviously. But, here’s a list of box of sunshine gift ideas to get you started:

Find a cute basket
Once you have everything to go inside your basket, you’ll want to find a cute basket to put everything in. Check out Hobby Lobby or other craft store. You’ll want to pick something that isn’t too large because you’re going to have to fill it. Also, choose a basket that isn’t super deep so that you can see the items when you fill it. I chose a basket that was about 12 inches wide, 15 inches long and 4 inches deep.
Then, buy some yellow and white tissue paper and fill the bottom and the sides. You’ll want it hang over so you can see it.
Add a sunshine gift tag
